The Upper House (Majlisi Oli), Tajikistan's parliament, has two chambers:
House of Representatives (Majlisi namoyandagon), the lower chamber with 63 members elected for a five-year term, 22 by proportional representation and 41 in single-seat constituencies. The previous Chairman of the Majlisi namoyandagon was Saydullo Khayrulloyev was elected on 27 March 2000. He was succeeded by Shukurjon Zuhurov on March 16, 2010.
National Assembly (Majlisi milli), the national chamber with 33 members, 25 elected for a five-year term by deputies of local majlis (councils) and 8 appointed by the president. The bi-cameral legislature was introduced in the September 1999 constitution. Prior to that, Tajikistan had a uni-cameral legislature.
Then Mr. Nasriddinzoda Emomali spoke about his biography and the beginning of his career, step by step he made professional career and was finally appointed to the position of the Head of Legal Affairs department in the upper house of parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan. He spoke about the possibilities of the young specialists nowadays. And he wished all students’ open way to build their career, to became good professionals and do their job proudly. They will work in the future with the civil society of their country and they should be best informed about the function and structure of each Ministry and state institution in order to advise the people and to understand them with their problems. If the person is a specialist in his field, he certainly will get career promotion. As a main factor for success the lecturer indicated self-discipline.
